Spanish Curriculum
The Spanish program at St. Athanasius offers a comprehensive approach to learning language for students in Pre-K to 8th grade. Students are engaged in a variety of ways in their Spanish classes. While in Spanish, students are exposed to Spanish culture, history, geography, food, music, holidays and most importantly language. The Spanish curriculum follows that of the Archdiocese of Louisville.
Grades 4 – 8 have Spanish twice a week for 45 minutes
Grades K – 3 have Spanish twice a week for 30 minutes.
Pre-K has Spanish once a week for 15 minutes.
Students in 3rd – 8th grade receive a letter grade based on the following: test, quizzes, class work, participation and projects.
Students in Pre-K to 2nd grade are not graded. However, the homeroom teacher and parent would be notified if the student was struggling.
