History
St. Athanasius School opened in the Okolona area in 1961 providing a Catholic education to grades 1-8. In the ‘80’s, an art, a music, and a physical education program were added. The ‘90’s saw a second expansion of services by our school with the addition of Kindergarten classes, a counselor, an after-school program called SAFE, and a computer education program. A Parish Hall consisting of a gym and a stage was also built during this time. Since 2001 we have added Pre-Kindergarten, a learning resource program to help meet the needs of gifted and challenged students, and a Spanish program. Currently our enrollment continues to increase as we serve Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grades and provide art, music, computer, physical education, library and research skills, Spanish, and counseling programs.
