SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
"Parents are obliged to take care that infants are baptized in the first few weeks; as soon as possible after the birth or even before it, they are to go to the pastor to request the sacrament for their child and to be prepared properly for it" (canon 867).
Baptism is available quarterly as well as any time requested. Non-Baptized people who are interested in becoming Catholic may prepare to receive this Sacrament through a process of prayer and catechesis called the "Order of Christian Initiation of Adults" (O.C.I.A.) or another adapted process.
If you would like to have your child baptized at St. Athanasius Parish, please contact Debbie Minton, Director of Religious Formation at [email protected] or 502-969-3332, ext. 106.
